The GTA NSW is affiliated to

• Australian Geography Teachers Association (AGTA)

Through its membership of AGTA it is also represented on the Australian Federation of Societies for the Studies of Society and Environment (AFSSSE), the National Education Forum (NEF) and Surveying & Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI).
